Review: The Host By Stephenie Meyer

   The Host By Stephenie Meyer

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 stars

This book is absolutely amazing . It completely exceeded my expectations.

The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. But Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. She refuses to give the possession of her mind to wanderer ,the soul that inhibits her body.Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of Jared and Jamie, humans related to her who still lives in hiding. So they take a journey not only to find the people they love but to find themselves.
I liked the ending. I didn't know how on earth it was supposed to come to a conclusion, and I liked that it came to a happy-but-not-perfect ending. I recently heard that Stephnie was going to write sequels to this book so if the sequels come out i am all for reading them.

Review: Reason To Breathe By Rebecca Donovan

Reason To Breathe By Rebecca Donovan
Ratings: 4 of 5 stars

I am really at a loss for words with this book.... I found myself breathless at certain points.

Reason to Breathe is about a young girl named Emily(Emma). She is a good student at Weslyn High earning straight A's,she is the editor for the Weslyn school paper and plays soccer, basketball and runs track for her school as well. Emma excels at soccer in which she hopes to get a scholarship. Emma's father is deceased and her mother gave her up b/cuz she is an alcoholic. Emma has been living with her Uncle, his wife and their 2 young kids for 4 yrs and is counting down the day till she leaves. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection while pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises - not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Emma's Best friend Sara is a tall, pretty and popular red head who is also Emma's sole secret keeper. In school Emma keeps to herself and only talks to Sara, but a new boy Evan Matthews comes to school and in just one day everything changes.
I started reading this book and literally could not put it down - I HAD to know how it ended. I am eagerly awaiting the sequel and know it will be another all nighter when it is available.

Review: Thirteen Reasons Why By Jay Asher

Thirteen Reasons Why By Jay Asher

Rating: 4 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. It's sad, amazing, heartbreaking, and hopeful, all at the same time.

Clay Jensen , one day, receives a pack of mysterious tapes on his front porch. So of course he rushes to the old radio/cassette player in his dad's garage to check out these mysterious tapes. And soon wishes, wholeheartedly, that he'd never picked up that stupid package. The tapes are kind of like a suicide note from Hannah Baker addressed to 13 people she says were the reason she decided to end her life.Clay had a crush on Hannah forever, but he never had the guts to really tell her. So how did he end up on her tapes? How could he be one of the people responsible for her suicide, he will have to listen to the tapes to find out.
This is one of the most compelling books I’ve ever read.
It's tough, sad, and tragic. But it carries a message more positive than negative.

Review: Uglies By Scott Westerfeld

   Uglies By Scott Westerfeld

Ratings:3.5 of 5 stars

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld is an amazing book showing us a new idea for dystopian life.

In Tally Youngblood's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. But Tally's new best friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside than go through with the operation. So when Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world  and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all.
I think the first part of the book is a little bit boring and it took time for things to be interesting. I really like the middle part and the last part though. I love the twists in the story and I think the story is pretty unpredictable most of the times.I am not really that excited for the sequel but I will surely read it.

Review: Anna Dressed In Blood By Kendare Blake

Anna Dressed In Blood By Kendare Blake

Ratings: 4 of 5 stars

Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story. Have you ever stood in your house, listening to a quiet, unfamiliar noise, and felt the hair rise on the back of your neck? Cas Lowood has, and the unholy hell of what he finds when he investigates will make you jump a little bit in your seat.

Cassius Theseus Lowood grew up in an unconventional family. His mother is a white witch and his father was in the business of killing the dead. When Cas’s father died, Cas inherited his duties and his powerful athame.
Anna is different in every way. She was killed in 1958. while walking to the prom in her beautiful white dress. When her throat was slit, blood covered her entirely, thus earning her the name Anna Dressed in Blood.  Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home. But she, for some reason, spares his life and thus the story begins.

This gothic ghost story is Eery, and Spooky, and Romantic, and Heartbreaking so obviously i cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel. In conclusion, this book was awesome and I would surely recommend it .

Review: Pretty Little Liars By Sarah Shepard

Pretty Little Liars By Sarah Shepard

Rating:4 of 5 stars

I started watching the TV show when it first came out, and liked it a lot. So I decided to see how the book series would compare.(and find out who A really is in the process.)

Pretty Little Liars, is about five best friends - Emily, Aria, Hanna, Spencer and Alison. Alison the queen bee of their group is what you could call the secret keeper of the clique. During a sleepover in seventh grade Alison walked out on them after a fight and then mysteriously disappeared.Fast forward a few years . The girls stopped talking to each other after the disappearance of Alison and now they're all receiving  threatening texts, IMs, notes and messages from an anonymous sender A who claims to know their dark secrets they thought disappeared with Alison and trust me, these girls have plenty of dirty secrets to last 10 lifetimes.
This book is a guilty pleasure read for sure. The plot is full of twists and turns and I have absolutely no idea what will happen next. But i have to admit i like the tv series a tad bit more than the book. But that does not change the fact that I will definitely read the sequel!

Review: Bad Girls Don't Die By Katie Alender

Bad Girls Don't Die By Katie Alender
Rating: 4 of 5 stars
My first thought of this book was creepy but it is a really good read.

Alexis is a spunky teenager with pink hair who loves photography .She also has some family issues. Lately her younger sister Kasey has been acting weird and her mom and dad don't seem to be noticing anything. It's not like they would because their Mom is putting all her efforts on getting promoted and her dad is off with his friends. Alexis steps up like the older sister she is and tries to help Kasey but she starts doing things that border the crazy. Along the way Alexis finds a new friend and a love interest she couldn't have seen coming, all the while trying to figure out the mystery behind Kasey's odd behavior.
This book has a little of everything in it too. A little paranormal, a little mystery and suspense, and even a little romance. The best part of this book, hands down, was Kasey. There's something that is just terrifying about creepy little girls.
I plan to read the sequel of this book "From Bad to Cursed" very very soon.

Colleen Hoover is freaking awesome! This was such a moving story! I couldn't put it down once I started reading.

Unfortunately in Layken’s life, things are never what they seem. As if the dramatic turn of events in her life isn’t enough, Layken is slammed again when her mother reveals a secret of her own. This book is inspiring it made me laugh ,it made me cry and most of all it made me fall in love with life. This book schooled me to push my boundaries because that is wat they are there for.
I’d highly highly recommend it to pretty much anyone and everyone who loves to read.

Review: Before I Fall By Lauren Oliver

Before I Fall By Lauren Oliver

Rating: 4of 5 stars
Before I Fall is one of the most beautiful stories I've read in a while and its cover is just as amazing as the book.

Samantha Kingston 's life  is perfect.Being a senior in high school she is goodlooking, popular, has 3 best friends and the cutest guy in school is her boyfriend. February 12 was supposed to be just another day of her perfect life everything was going great until the moment she died but the catch is that she wakes up to live that same day 7 more times and each time she tries to make different decisions to change her fate.
The ending to Before I Fall is devastating. It isn't fair it makes you want to cry and never stop .But Sam's journey teaches us to cherish each moment of our life and live it like it is our last day. it teaches us how our decisions can affect others lives .It's one of those books that when you turn the final page you have to sit back and let it all sink in.
well the book was awesome and i cannot wait to read more of Oliver's novels.

Review: The Hunger Games

THE HUNGER GAMES BY SUZANNE COLLINS                                                                                                                                       Rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

This book is a must read for people who are fed up of weak heroines.

The hunger games by Suzanne Collins is a dystopian novel  set up in the backdrop of  North America which has been destroyed and is now run by the powerful capital . It is divided into 12 districts (district 13 has been destroyed due to a rebellion).
In district 12 ace hunter Katniss Everdeen (our protagonist), a 16 year old girl, carves out a meager existence for herself, her younger sister ,Prim, and their widowed mother. In order to keep the districts aware of who runs the county, the capital arranges a game to the death each year in an elaborate arena.
Each district holds a drawing of one boy and one girl to go as tributes. When her sister, Prim, is picked, Katniss exercises her option to volunteer for the games in order to save her. Along with Katniss comes also Peeta, the baker’s son, who grew up with her. Now Katniss and Peeta must fend for themselves against natural elements, the gamemakers and the other contestants whose only option is to kill or be killed..
katniss is a sharp and intelligent heroine with just the right amount of emotion . She gives in to absolutely nothing and no one and knows how to fight for herself .Combine this with  an original setting , a unique and thrilling plot and a couple of earth-shattering shocks every now and then  and you get The Hunger Games.
